The Statistical Support Network (SSN) is a group of expert statisticians dedicated to being the premier source of statistical advice at ANU. Central to the SSN’s mission is fostering research collaboration, bringing together minds from both the sciences and humanities.
The SSN:
- has the cutting-edge technical expertise to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving world of data-driven research, spanning diverse disciplines;
- champions the design of robust experiments and surveys, ensuring rigorous study methodologies; and
- provides comprehensive advice in data management, exploratory data analysis, statistical modelling and data presentation.
Partnering with the Biological Data Science Institute, the SSN hosts weekly drop-in sessions to tackle to researcher queries, alongside a variety of tailored short courses and workshops in statistics tailored to specific research areas. Additionally, the Network provides generalist online courses to cultivate strong statistical thinking skills.
